Custom Coast Guard Patches for Stations, Cutters and Crews
Coast Guard units often order cutter and station patches, rescue swimmer and boat crew patches, air station squadron patches and patches for Auxiliary flotillas and volunteer programs. Many crews also commission patches for decommissioning ceremonies, anniversaries and memorable cases.
Because so much Coast Guard gear lives on the water, PVC patches are an excellent fit — they do not absorb water, resist UV and wipe clean. For dress jackets and keepsakes, embroidered patches with metallic or high-contrast thread look sharp.

Recommended sizes & shapes
Station and cutter patches are commonly 3.5 to 4.5 inch circles or shields. Hook-backed morale and team patches are typically 2 × 3 or 3 × 3 inches for loop panels on float coats and bags.
Durability
PVC is our top recommendation for patches that will be wet regularly. Embroidered patches should use polyester thread, which tolerates salt water and sun better than rayon.
Design considerations
Maritime designs with ships, aircraft and lifebuoys benefit from bold outlines and limited colors. Coast Guard emblems, the racing stripe and official insignia are protected; confirm authorization before including them.
