Custom Navy Patches for Ships, Squadrons and Crews

Every ship and squadron has a story, and Navy patches have long been the way crews tell it. We make custom patches for ships' crews, aviation squadrons, Seabee units, chiefs' messes and Navy veteran associations — from cruise commemoratives to command coin-style emblems.

Navy patches range from ship's crests and squadron emblems to cruise patches that list ports of call, deployment years and the ship's hull number. Chiefs' messes, wardrooms and divisions also order patches for events, and reunion associations commission patches for shipmates who served decades ago.

Naval designs often include ships, anchors, aircraft and maritime heraldry. These details reproduce best at 4 inches and larger, or as woven patches that hold fine lines. Gold and silver metallic thread is a popular upgrade for ship crests and anniversary patches.

Recommended sizes & shapes

Ship and squadron emblems are usually 4 to 5 inch circles or shields. Cruise patches with lots of text can run larger — 5 to 6 inches — or use woven construction. Morale patches for loop panels are 2 × 3 or 3 × 3 inches.

Durability

Salt air and sun are tough on gear. Polyester thread and PVC resist fading, and PVC is completely waterproof for patches used on deck or in boats.

Design considerations

Prioritize a strong central image (ship profile, aircraft or mascot) and keep lists of ports short. Metallic gold thread suits ceremonial patches. Navy emblems and official command insignia require authorization from the appropriate command.

FAQ

Navy Patches FAQs

Can you put a list of ports of call on a cruise patch?

Yes, though long lists need space. We may suggest a larger patch, a woven construction or splitting text into a rocker so names stay legible.

Do you offer metallic gold thread?

Yes. Metallic gold and silver thread are available for borders, lettering and details on embroidered patches.

Can reunion associations order small quantities?

Absolutely. Our minimum is 10 patches per design, which suits smaller reunion groups.
